This is more than a club. This is Next Level 901. 

Founded with the vision to completely transform players in every way possible, Next Level 901 Developmental is a boys developmental basketball club that provides access to elite facilities and prioritizes the complete growth of individual players, placing a strong emphasis on the acquisition and refinement of fundamental skills.

At Next Level 901, whether on or off the court, our developmental approach is rooted in a long-term vision for player maturation. The core principles of this program will involve a dedicated effort to instill sound fundamentals, systematically address and strengthen individual weaknesses, and cultivate a deep understanding of basketball IQ. 

This holistic approach aims to build a foundation that will enable players to achieve their full potential over time. The emphasis is on fostering a deep understanding of the game and a well-rounded skillset that will serve players throughout their basketball careers.

  • Coach Shawn Taggart:

    Coach Shawn Taggart is a former professional basketball player and experienced coach with over 15 years of experience in player development and team leadership. He played professionally from 2009–2019, including competing in the NBA Summer League with the Toronto Raptors, and competed in more than 12 countries worldwide.

    Coach Taggart served as Head Coach at Collierville High School (2022–2024), leading the program to a District Championship, focusing on player development and game strategy. He has conducted basketball camps and clinics across the U.S. and internationally and has trained professional and college-bound athletes since 2011.

    Known for his leadership and mentorship, Coach Taggart is committed to developing disciplined, high-character student-athletes and building winning cultures on and off the court.

    Coach Amarion Jones: Amarion Jones is a young and talented rising basketball coach dedicated to developing youth athletes. With close to 2 years of experience, he excels at connecting with players and fostering growth both on and off the court. Coach Jones emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, and mental toughness. His basketball journey began at Faith Prep Academy, where he played under Coach Daniel Bandy, a former professional overseas player who significantly influenced Amarion's game and mindset. In 2021, Amarion gained valuable experience in college-level coaching, preparation, and player development as a walk-on and team manager for the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball program. Coach Jones now applies that same work ethic, leadership, and love for the game to his coaching career. He is committed to building complete players, pushing them to reach their full potential while instilling crucial values such as accountability, respect, and resilience.

  • Developmental:

    • Ages 7U–15U | Ideal for beginners learning fundamentals such as positioning, ball control, shooting mechanics. This program looks to build an overall solid foundation that kids can carry to the next level.

    • Weekly practice and training sessions are included, with a focus on foundational skill-building. Player evaluations will be ongoing throughout the season.

    • This program focuses on developing a player's foundation without the pressure of scheduled games. While team practices will include mini-games and scrimmages, the core aim is to truly master the basics, fully preparing players before they compete under a whistle.

    Developmental Plus

    • Ages 8U–16U | Ideal for players who are developing their skills. This program is perfect for athletes looking to gain more court time or those aspiring to make their school or AAU teams.

    • Weekly practice and training sessions are included, with a focus on foundational skill-building. Player evaluations will be ongoing throughout the season.

    • Players compete in the MSEC Youth League within a supportive, learning-focused, and semi-competitive  environment.

  • Jordan Cooper:

    Jordan Cooper, the MSEC's Sports Coordinator and Club Director for Next Level 901 Developmental Boys Basketball Club, brings a wealth of experience to this program. A skilled athlete, Coach Jordan's playing background includes Division 1 Basketball experience, while also being a former tryout prospect for the NBA G League/Memphis Hustle. His coaching experience is just as tenured with close to a decade working with all ages and skill levels. From grade school to high level college players, Coach Jordan has experience working and connecting with players all across the city of Memphis.

    Coach Jordan wishes to share his thirst for knowledge and pure passion for the game by exemplifying what it means and what it takes to be the complete basketball player. Motivated purely by love and passion for player development, he is truly committed to building a program with those same principles.
